Nursing, Rehabilitation, and Palliative Care

The network research issues related to nursing, rehabilitation, and palliative care in the context of cancer. Most of the research is conducted in close connection and collaboration with the clinical practice within the southern healthcare region as well as in national and international collaboration and focuses on areas e.g., early integrated palliative care, palliative eHealth, symptom management, physical activity and cancer, cancer rehabilitation and person-centered care. Research is also conducted at register level based on the Swedish national quality registers. Members of the network conduct high quality research which has attracted large national research grants.

The LUCC network for Nursing, Rehabilitation and Palliative care consists of members with great and deep knowledge within the field. The researchers in the group have different professional background including nurses, physiotherapists, physicians, historian, and psychologists and is composed of Associate Professors, PhDs as well as PhD-students.

The network aims to increase knowledge about the person in the cancer process by researching those areas that are more concerned with the patients’ and their relatives' experiences and perceptions than diagnosis and treatment. The goal is also to promote the use of patient and public involvement in cancer research to more broadly ensure that the patient perspective is considered in the future of cancer care.

The purpose of the LUCC-Nursing, Rehabilitation and Palliative care network is to:

  • Building an arena for increased networking in nursing, rehabilitation and palliative care research.
  • Increase knowledge about implementation research with the aim of promoting evidence-based cancer care.
  • Promote PPI involvement in cancer research.
